Prepare Your Four-Legged Crew for Winter Kidding Season With Our Panels, Grafting Boxes, Doors and Pen Components

If you have a livestock operation for goats, you will need to get ready for the winter kidding season. This can help mitigate the stress for you as an operator as well as your animals. D-S Livestock Equipment in Frostburg, Maryland has the sorting and separating equipment you will need to make this process as smooth as possible, whether you are looking for panels, grafting boxes or pen parts.

We understand that birthing in the wintertime for your goats can be a challenge since they have sparse insulation when compared with their lamb and calf counterparts. To keep your nanny and her kids safe and healthy as the temperatures drop below freezing, you want to make sure they can be dried right away to keep them from incurring the risk of hypothermia, frostbite and even death. Our top-quality panels, grafting boxes, doors and pen components will keep your four-legged crew in optimal shape.

-We have lambing and kidding panels available in various heights and are strong and lightweight.
-Our panels have connectors that allow pens to be set back or against a wall for additional stability.
-You can connect a portable graft box to the pen by attaching it to the kidding panels so a kid can nurse even when the nanny has an issue with rejection. The nanny can also stand or lie down thanks to grafting box adjustment.

If you have a goat operation and are looking for the right equipment to help you with your winter kidding, we welcome you to call 800-949-9997 to speak with a representative at D-S Livestock Handling Equipment. Are You Ready for the Winter Kidding Season?

As the calendar nears the end of yet another seasonal cycle, it’s now almost time for winter kidding for your goat operation. At D-S Livestock Equipment, we have the equipment you need to keep your nanny and her offspring as comfortable as possible during this stressful period. With winter birthing for goats – who are smaller and have very little insulation compared to lambs and calves – we know that when the temperatures plummet, you will want to be prepared for your nanny and her kids and have the process run as efficiently as possible.

When temperatures drop below freezing the kids need to be dried quickly to avoid chilling and possible hypothermia. You don’t want one of the kids to lose a tip of an ear to frostbite or death. We supply high-quality panels, grafting boxes doors and pen components that can make your winter goat kidding operation run smoothly.

We offer lambing and kidding panels in various heights to fit your needs. They are strong even though they are also lightweight, and you can design your pens to range anywhere from 4×4 to 6×6 feet and use 7/16-inch rods. All panels are 41 inches high. The panel sizes come in 4 feet, 5 feet, or 6 feet tall and weigh 25 lbs., 30 lbs. or 33 lbs. respectively. Our creep doors have adjustable rollers with doors that open and close readily for easy access. Our creep panels have a spring-loaded latch and are hinged inside a heavy steel frame, with the doors opening both ways.

With the lamb and goat creep panels, the vertical and horizontal bars can be adjusted in both width and height. You can also add or take out rollers. You can place your pens against a wall or back to back as needed and our grafting box is readily connected to the pens. You can also attach the grafting box to the kidding panels to keep a nanny in position if one of her kids has a rejection problem and still needs to nurse. With the grafting box the nanny may be stood up or adjusted for longer periods should she need to lie down. The grafting box is highly portable as well so you can move it from pen to pen as needed. When it comes to our products, our goal is to strive for ease of use along with convenience.
