As the warm winds and sweet grasses of summer gradually give way to the bracing wind and tumbling leaves of fall, many livestock operations will start to move their herds toward winter grounds and shelter. In the northerly latitudes, the seasonal transition might also call for dividing herds into groups that can be kept indoors during the deepest cold of winter.
Of course, minimizing stress is important for maintaining healthy animals. With inclement weather looming on the horizon, efficiency in sorting, loading and eventual hauling become critical both for the well-being of the animals and the profitability of your operation.
Here at D-S Livestock Equipment, we have been providing quality equipment to goat, sheep and cattle operations since 1982. Our decades of experience help us streamline the process to deliver the equipment to you in as timely a manner as possible.
We maintain a large inventory, which allows us to ship orders faster than most of our competitors. Our products can be shipped throughout the United States as well as internationally. Up to 95% of our orders ship within the first 24 hours.
Our LR96 portable loading ramp is designed to be durable enough to move large numbers of sheep and goats. Its 10-inch wheels help maintain comfortable balance and ease of movement, allowing you to quickly reposition the unit for loading into a livestock trailer. The unit can be adjusted to five different height settings, depending on the loading area. The angled sides also help prevent a spooked animal from turning around.
For moving small numbers of sheep or goats, we also offer truck boxes in three convenient sizes. The TR36, TR46 and TR48 all come with a 24-inch wide door with a spring-loaded latch. The bars are tightly spaced to reduce the chances of a smaller animal inserting its head or getting a limb trapped. It can be easily installed in a truck box in just a matter of minutes. Complete assembly only requires eight bolts.
After you are done sorting, loading and hauling the animals, the truck boxes can be easily disassembled to be stored until spring.
